Started from humble beginnings, a simple yet dedicated hobby of creating ravishing floral arrangements quickly grew into something much bigger with the tremendous support from our dedicated patrons.
In a short amount of time, HobbyFloristKL rose to become a reality as our exquisite bouquets garnered much attention from a long list of clientele and touched the lives of many flower lovers across Malaysia. With our creative vision of curating floral crafts with embodiments of positivity, love and support – HobbyFloristKL follows an unwavering passion to bring a piece of nature’s beauty into your loving arms.

Our Logo
Mr Alvin loves flower which is elegant by itself, without the accompaniment of other foliage, and the only answer is Tulip. The bulb appearance of the tulip exhibits its elegance effortlessly, whereas it also symbolizes deep love, rebirth and charity.
To express the character of Mr Alvin, he prefers a life without fighting and competing much amongst the market, which is one of the reasons he dedicated himself in floristry. Another flower that well express his character is dandelion. He chooses dandelion as it represent a free-spirited soul, of innocence, and of playfulness.

Our Journey
Hobby Florist KL first started its journey on May 1, 2019. It was an Instagram account that our founder Mr Alvin created to keep his memory of making bouquets as a hobby, and that is how the name “Hobby Florist KL” came from. With no expectation on how prosperous the business has become right now, Mr Alvin was handling everything all by himself. From customer acquisition to flower arrangement and delivery, even the wish cards, every aspect was taken care personally, you would see hand-written and handmade cards, even Mr Alvin when he personally drove the flowers to the doorstep for customers. Starting the floristry business at his home for almost six months, Mr Alvin decided to rent a space to make more bouquets and store inventory in January 2020. Due to unforeseen circumstances, COVID-19 pandemic struck Malaysia in later March, which put the floristry business into hibernation, workshops and flower retail business were forced to pause when they were just about to bloom.
Our Journey
Despite the hard time, Mr Alvin did not give up his passion. He utilised his time at home to categorise the past floral work he had done, and search for suitable website template to upload them with product descriptions. Utilising website could reduce the time of replying customers, where bouquet designs and prices are all up on website, it could also boost customer’s confidence that the business is legit and genuine. After a few months when the MCO was lifted, floral retail business and workshops were getting back on track. During the year 2021, Hobby Florist KL expanded into a small team of 4 persons, and garnered around 500 students from offline floral classes.
Our Journey
An important leap is that Mr Alvin had signed up for short business courses which enabled him to create better marketing plans and the business has upgraded its website to a whole new interphase, which brings Hobby Florist KL to another level during year 2021. Passion of making beautiful bouquets and determination to improve self-being did not fade away even in those busy days. Two important factors that the florist emphasizes include the quality of bouquets and helpfulness of customer service. Mr Alvin believes that these two principles are the fundamental key to success of the florist business. During that year, Hobby Florist KL has accumulated more than 500 students nationwide on floral classes and served more than hundreds of bouquets around Klang Valley.
